2025 SCSE x Net Zero City Expo

The National Development Council, Kaohsiung City Government, and Taipei Computer Association (TCA) have confirmed that the Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) will take place from March 18 to 22. The event will be hosted across two venues: the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from March 18 to 21 and the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from March 20 to 22.

2025 SCSE x Net Zero City Expo

This year’s edition is set to welcome participants from 59 countries and regions, representing 138 cities, with 2,806 international attendees expected. The top five visiting countries include Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, and Hungary. Notably, a delegation of over ten Ukrainian city leaders will be present, taking part in special events such as the “Ukraine Recovery and Reconstruction Business Opportunities Forum” and matchmaking sessions designed to explore Taiwan’s contributions to Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts through smart technology.

A key highlight of this year’s expo is the launch of the “Smart City Global Co-Creation Pavilion,” designed to strengthen collaboration between Taiwanese enterprises and global partners. Participants include Japan’s NTT, Singapore’s Singtel, Thailand’s AIS, and the IOWN Global Forum, showcasing innovations such as all-optical networks, smart streetlights, and a variety of smart city solutions. Additionally, winners of the System Integration Award, including SYSCOM Group and Wave-In, will present successful international case studies.

Continuing its tradition, the SCSE will feature leading industry players such as Acer Group, ASUS, Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone, Foxconn, MiTAC, SECOM, SYSCOM Group, Tatung, Taiwan Mobile, TECO, and Quanta. These companies will highlight their latest AI-powered solutions across sectors such as smart transportation, healthcare, building automation, and energy management.

In addition, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications will introduce the “Low-Carbon Mobility Pavilion,” where the Taiwan EV Power Supplement Alliance will showcase smart charging station standards and applications. Foxconn and Master Bus will also unveil their latest electric bus models, while discussions on integrating large EV batteries with virtual power grids will explore emerging opportunities for the industry. Meanwhile, the “Smart Startups Program” will bring together 115 startups from 11 global accelerators, presenting cutting-edge developments in smart technology and green sustainability.

Further supporting Taiwan’s net-zero transition, the first-ever “Urban Energy Transition Award” will recognize local governments demonstrating excellence in energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and resource recycling. Based on government open data and net-zero initiatives, Pingtung County and Kaohsiung City will receive awards in the “Energy Transition” category, while Kinmen County and Taipei City will be honored for their efforts in “Circular Resource Promotion.” These award-winning regions will share their achievements during the event.

With a central theme of “Digital and Green Transformation,” this year’s SCSE will spotlight AI integration, smart governance, energy efficiency, virtual power plants, and sustainability-driven global collaborations, reinforcing Taiwan’s commitment to advancing digital innovation and net-zero initiatives.
