5 Reasons Why Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a Productivity Workhorse
5 min readIn today’s fast-paced world, having a reliable smartphone is essential to stay connected and productive. This is especially true in my use cases whereby social media is my battlefield. Apart from using smartphones to facilitate communication, our work as tech journalists and YouTubers requires constant updates on the latest happening in the tech industry. That includes constant dealing with messaging, emails, social media activities and even involving the smartphone in the creative production process.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of the most advanced smartphones on the market, offering a wide range of features that make it ideal for productivity. Here are the five reasons why I choose to daily drive the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Large Display
The Galaxy S23 Ultra features a massive 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, making it one of the larger smartphone displays on the market. The large screen provides ample space for multitasking, allowing you to work on multiple apps simultaneously.
Additionally, the display is bright, capable of sustaining up to 1200 nits in high brightness mode and peaking at 1750 nits. Such high brightness makes it easy to read the text and view images even under bright sunlight.
On top of that, the 1440 x 3088 pixels resolution display measures about 500 pixels per inch is crispy and sharp. It is excellent for all sorts of content, be it text, photos or videos. Pairing it with vivid AMOLED colours, it is one of the best displays for content creation and consumption.
S Pen Support
Now we did mention the large screen can facilitate multitasking, however, we shall never forget Samsung is probably the only prominent brand that is still actively developing and supporting a stylus on modern smartphones. Meet the S Pen if you happen to be unaware of such a thing.
It is one of the most significant productivity features of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. With the S Pen, you can take notes, annotate documents, and draw with precision. Kudos to the engineering team behind the S Pen that makes the fine sharp tip as well as reduces the input delay down to 2.8 milliseconds. As such, writing and drawing on the Galaxy S23 Ultra feel almost as natural as writing on a sheet of paper. That is the main reason why Samsung has a strong follower group when it comes to the previous Galaxy Note series.
Powerful Processor & Samsung OneUI
The powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in the Galaxy S23 Ultra can greatly improve productivity for users. With a fast and efficient processor, the phone is able to handle demanding tasks such as running multiple apps simultaneously, processing large files quickly, and smoothly streaming high-quality video content.
This means that users can get more done in less time without experiencing any lag or slowdowns, ultimately leading to increased productivity. Additionally, with a phone that can handle intensive tasks with ease, users can focus on their work without worrying about whether their device can keep up with their demands.
On top of the powerful hardware lies an excellent Android 13 platform running Samsung OneUI 5. While many Android purists would argue that Vanilla Android is better, personally, I think they serve an entirely different group of users. OneUI is a representation of Samsung’s cumulative experience in feature development. Gone are the days of highly bloated skins as OneUI matures as one of the most productive Android 13 user interfaces. Some of my favourite features include Samsung DeX, Modes & Routines, S Pen and Samsung Wallet.
Since most of my work can be done on the browser alone, connecting the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to a monitor instantly turn it into a Chromebook-like PC. With a bigger screen and keyboard-mouse combo, I can accomplish more while still having access to all my files and apps.
Excellent Camera System
Another reason why I decided to use the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra as my daily driver is its camera setup. The primary camera has been upgraded with a brand-new 200-megapixel sensor. By using 16-in-1 pixel binning, the camera algorithm will combine data collected by the 4×4 pixel array into a single pixel to achieve the balance of image quality without generating a massive image file size.
Besides, the highly versatile camera system includes a standard lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens a telephoto lens and a periscope lens allowing us creators to freely choose the right camera for our subjects. This is particularly important since a different focal length will generate a completely different perspective image.

Long Battery Life
Finally, the battery life. While on paper 5000mAh might seem not a lot considering how some brands are offering over 6000mAh batteries. That being said, the overall user experience is more than just the numbers. What ultimately affects a device’s battery life includes the battery capacity, chipset efficiency and software optimisation. In this case, we have a decently sized 5000 mAh battery and a power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Topping it off with a smart OneUI 5 that controls the background task, I can easily get more than 1 day’s worth of extremely heavy usage out of a single full charge.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is an excellent choice for anyone who needs a powerful and reliable smartphone for productivity. With its large display, S Pen support, powerful processor, excellent camera system, and long battery life, it’s the perfect phone for remote workers, business professionals, and anyone who needs to stay connected and productive on the go.
