Apple today quietly announced the new iPad 9.7-inch as the replacement for the 2014 Apple iPad Air 2. Yeap, Apple has killed the “Air”, no iPad Air 3 guys.
iPad 9.7-inch Tech Specs
The new iPad runs on the same Apple A9 chip in the iPhone 6S which is faster than the iPad Air 2’s Apple A8X chip. Storage comes in 2 flavour, 32 GB and 128 GB. The rest, however, remained almost identical to the Air 2. The display still sports the same 9.7-inch retina resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. Primary camera sports a 8 MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture lens, while the FaceTime HD camera gets a 1.2 MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens. Battery gets a slight increase from 27.6 Wh to 32.4 Wh, hence contributes to the slightly thicker and heavier body.

The new iPad will come in three colours options – Silver, Gold, and Space Gray. Pricing as below:
