They’ve partnered with Backbase, a company known for its customer-centric banking platforms, to create a brand new Islamic banking super app. This app will go beyond traditional banking, offering features for financial and faith-based needs.
Backbase isn’t the only partner on board. Mambu, a cloud-based core banking company, is also involved to provide the technical foundation. This switch to the cloud will save Bank Muamalat money and streamline operations.
The new app is expected to launch by the end of the year and cater to Malaysia’s diverse customer base. Bank Muamalat also has plans to expand these innovations to commercial and SME banking in the future.
