Eclipsa Audio: Dolby Atmos Killer?
Samsung Electronics has partnered with Google to bring Eclipsa Audio, a new 3D audio technology, to its 2025 TV and soundbar lineup. This collaboration aims to revolutionize home entertainment by providing more immersive audio experiences.
Eclipsa Audio empowers content creators to precisely control audio elements, including sound location, intensity, and spatial reflections, resulting in a more dynamic and three-dimensional soundscape.
As the leading TV brand globally for 18 years, with a significant market share in the 75-inch and larger segment, Samsung’s integration of Eclipsa Audio across its 2025 TV range—from Crystal UHD to Neo QLED 8K models—will make this technology widely accessible to consumers.
A key development is the support for Eclipsa Audio on YouTube starting in 2025. This will allow creators to upload videos with spatial audio tracks, which viewers with compatible 2025 Samsung devices can then enjoy.
To maintain high audio quality standards, Samsung and Google are collaborating with the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) to establish a certification program for Eclipsa Audio-enabled devices.
Both Samsung and Google express enthusiasm for Eclipsa Audio’s potential to transform audio experiences and anticipate creative new applications from content creators.
