Fitbit OS 3.0 Update Rolling Out

Fitbit today announces the release of Fitbit OS 3.0 for Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Ionic: adidas edition and Fitbit Versa smartwatches. The update delivers an upgraded on-device dashboard and goal-based exercise modes.

Expanded On-Device Dashboard

The dashboard now shows more stats and data, including sleep, water intake logging and weight. Other than the basics, exercise based stats will be shown as well including heart rate and hourly activity.

Popular Brand Apps

The expanded Fitbit App Gallery see 10 new popular brand apps available for users including: achu health, Couch to 5K, Genius Wrist and MySwimPro. There will be more third-party appls coming in early 2019 – Charity Miles, Fitbark, MINDBODY and TRX.

New Fitbit Exercise API

The launch of the App Gallery in late 2017 has spurred a growth in the global community of more than 44,000 developers. The new Exercise API allows developers to use their own algorithms in building health and fitness apps. That means more complex and high-quality applications for Fitbit smartwatch users.

Lastly, Fitbit’s Female Health Tracking has finally come to Fitbit app. It allows users to log menstrual symptoms which in other words providing a better menstrual cycle prediction and tracking.
