EMUI 5 with Android 7.0

EMUI 5

As we have previously reviewed quite a number of Huawei smartphones, we are no stranger to the Huawei’s latest Emotion UI (EMUI) interface.

EMUI home screen

It is based on the Android 7 Nougat and it sports a new refreshed interface and a handful of features that resemble the stock Android. I really dig the look of the new interface especially the blue and white ascent of the icons. Notable features include the switchable home screen mode, user customisable navigation keys and app twin.

The EMUI 5 also comes with the Machine Learning Algorithm (MLA) where it studies your usage habit and tune the performance. It seems Huawei has fixed the battery drain issue due to the overly aggressive algorithm running in the background. Battery life is now a lot better compared to my experience when EMUI 5 first launched.
