Huawei P10 family now official in Malaysia

After the successful launch at Mobile World Congress 2017 last week, Huawei today has officially announced that the Huawei P10, P10 Plus and P10 Lite to be available in Malaysia on 31st March.

Huawei P10 Plus

The leader of the pack comes with a 5.5-inch Quad-HD 1440p display. The phone runs on Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 256 GB via the Micro SD card. However, the Micro SD card will take up the second SIM card slot.

The camera department gets an upgrade from the P9 and Mate 9. It gets a 20 MP (monochrome) + 12 MP (colour) sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). The attached lens is a new and brighter Leica SUMMILUX-H f/1.8 aperture lens. The front camera also gets an upgrade with the Leica certified 8 MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture lens.

Powering the device is a 3750 mAh battery that supports Huawei’s SuperCharge technology via the USB-C port. Out of the box, the P10 Plus will run Huawei’s latest Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.1 which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Huawei P10

The smaller sibling of the P10 Plus gets a smaller 5.1-inch Full HD 1080p display. It gets the same Kirin 960 SoC but comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Same story with the hybrid SIM slot that supports Micro SD card up to 256 GB.

Camera department gets the same configuration as the Mate 9, 20 MP (monochrome) + 12 MP (colour) with OIS. The lens remained the older SUMMARIT-H f/2.2 aperture lens. The front camera shared the same Leica certified 8 MP camera with f/1.9 aperture lens.

The battery is also smaller at 3200 mAh that supports SuperCharge technology. The P10 will run EMUI 5.1 with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Huawei P10 Lite

Then, the mid-ranged model and the most affordable unit out of the P10 family is the P10 Lite. The 5.2-inch display pushes Full HD 1920 * 1080 pixels. It runs on HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The hybrid SIM slot supports Micro SD card up to 128 GB.

Just like the P9 Lite, the P10 Lite gets a regular 12 MP rear camera and a 8 MP front camera. Unlike the P10 and P10 Plus, the Lite version gets a glass back and had the fingerprint scanner remained at the back.

Availability

Huawei P10 family will be officially available in Malaysia starting 31st March (P10) and 15th April (P10 Plus). Pre-order starts on 23rd March.

At launch, the P10 Lite will come in Gold and Black colours. Meanwhile, for P10 and P10 Plus, we will get either Prestige Gold or Graphite Black. Huawei Malaysia has confirmed that they are working to bring in other colours sometime in May or June.
