Huawei Releases New Huawei Watch GT 2
3 min readHuawei has unveiled its next-generation smartwatch, the Huawei Watch GT 2 and it is released in two sizes; 42mm and 46mm. Pushing the boundaries of smartwatches, the GT 2 has an all-in-one 3D glass screen creating a wider display with more sports modes, Bluetooth calling, as well as music playback functionalities. Enhancing health and fitness monitoring, the Huawei Watch GT 2 is the ultimate watch for your care in meticulous details to those who are in the pursuit of a quality lifestyle.
Fulfilling the role of the successor of the first Huawei Watch GT, the GT 2 goes further in its battery life. Powered by the proprietary Kirin A1 chip, the GT 2 delivers an upgraded user experience and excellent battery life due to the chip’s low power consumption. Integrating an advanced Bluetooth and audio processing unit and a separate power management unit, this combination allows the GT 2 to keep up with your robust active lifestyle for up to 2 weeks from a single charge.
Huawei has claimed battery life of up to 2 weeks for the 46mm series while the 42mm for up to 1 week all with heart rate monitor, call notifications, 30 minutes of weekly Bluetooth calls and music playback on, 90 minutes of exercise and scientific sleep mode on. Under GPS tracking in Sports Mode, Huawei boasts a battery life of 30 hours for the 46mm and 15 hours for the 42mm.
The new GT 2 inherits the same design as it’s predecessor. Rocking it’s classic round watch design, pairing this smartwatch with any outfit you have in mind is surely not a problem. The new all-in-one 3D glass gives a wider screen and a curved screen like a regular watch. The dial on the 46mm series adopts bevelled sculpting and gemstone processing creating a 3D curved glass effect and applies individual carving to create concave spots on the dial for a more vivid look. For the 42mm series, the curved dial is only 9.4mm thin decorated with a thin, gorgeous metal frame.
Both the 42mm and 46mm has an AMOLED HD precision touch screen with a 454 Ă— 454 pixels display resolution on the 46mm and a 390 Ă— 390 pixels display resolution on the 42mm. Either way, the OLED colour gamut is sure to give off bright and vivid colours on the GT 2 in wherever you do.
The watch can hold up to 500 mp3 songs making your favourite tunes on the go. Bluetooth calls can be supported up to 150m away from your phone and a phonebook functionality to save your favourite contacts speaking to them while on the go.
Its 15 different Sports Modes provides full-scale monitoring of approximately 190 types of data, recording analysis during the exercise and giving professional advice afterwards. Like having a personal coach.
The GT 2 heart rate monitor keeps an eye on your cardiovascular health in real-time with enabling you to view it in Huawei Sports and Health App. In addition to that, sleep monitoring is another function that Huawei has included in to rate and analyze your sleep quality.
As if that’s not enough, Huawei has also incorporated TruRelax which they claim will help users relieve stress by recording Heart Rate Variability(HRV) values and providing feedback on the user stress index. A sedentary alert is also available to remind you to walk once in a while after you’ve been sitting for too long.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 is priced at EUR 229 for the 42mm series and EUR 249 for the 46mm series. The price in MYR has not been released yet. The smartwatch will go on sale globally from October 2019.
