Midea Previews Future Smart Homes in Malaysia, Targets RM1 Billion Sales
Midea, a major player in home appliances, gave Malaysians a sneak peek at their 2025/2026 lineup, showcasing a focus on smart, energy-saving products.
At an event at Genting International Convention Centre, Midea Malaysia’s Managing Director, Mark Tam, emphasized the company’s commitment to making smart home living accessible. “People are busy, and they want easy solutions,” he said, highlighting the company’s focus on affordability and quality.
Midea is responding to the growing demand for energy-efficient appliances. With rising electricity costs, many Malaysians are looking for ways to save money. Midea showcased numerous air conditioners and refrigerators with high energy ratings, including SEDA-certified models. They also noted a significant increase in sales of their energy-saving inverter air conditioners.
Smart home integration is another key focus. Midea’s new products feature AI and Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to control their appliances through the SmartHome app. This creates a more connected and convenient home experience.
Midea is experiencing strong growth in Malaysia, with its air conditioner sales booming. The company aims to hit RM1 billion in sales by 2025, relying on its extensive dealer network to reach customers nationwide.
To enhance the customer experience, Midea plans to upgrade over 50 of its brand stores across Malaysia. They’re also creating specialized sales terminals with expert support and a more immersive shopping environment.
