Software & Features
Pure Android
As other phone brands wish to stand out by customising the Android skin and building features that no one ever asked, meanwhile, HMD Global has opted for a pure Android experience. It is not like I hated those custom features from third-party skins, just that most of the time, the new features do not align well with the Android design language and experience. On top of that, why spend the resources on building and maintaining the features that Google Android has already offered in the first place?
On top of that, why spend the resources on building and maintaining the features that Google Android has already offered in the first place? Take Google Photos as an example, it is a powerful image gallery that offers you unlimited photo backup solution. The same goes for many other apps such as Calendar, Messages and even the Browser itself.
So in a nutshell, out of the box, we’re getting the latest version of Android – Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ZERO bloatware. Therefore, Nokia is also capable of pushing monthly security patch to the device in a timely manner.
