From here, we can straight away know that the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition is definitely a powerful smartphone. Its latest Snapdragon 855 chipset means that this phone means business and definitely is going to crush benchmarks and games.
Firstly, let’s start off with benchmarks. We test a suite of benchmarks here – 3DMark, Antutu, Geekbench 4, and also AItutu.
As the Snapdragon 855 is currently the champion in pure chipset performance, we expect nothing but the best from the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition.
As for battery life, we went back to PCMark. From here, its relatively massive 4,065mAh battery can last for a surprising 15 hours in our benchmark! That is in part thanks to OPPO’s smart AI algorithms to magically optimize and prolong the battery life while the Snapdragon 855 in itself is already very power efficient. Then onward to the charger. OPPO has once again flexed its muscles as they are the pioneers of fast-charging technology. The brand new OPPO Renov 10x Zoom Edition also comes with VOOC 3.0, which is a proprietary 20W charger. Its charging speed is really speedy too, clocking in at just below 70 minutes to get from 15% to a full 100% battery charge.
We also pitted it against a standard 5V 2A and we have to say – the VOOC 3.0 is surely something that we deeply appreciate OPPO for including since we constantly traveling to other countries and need a quick juice up in the hotel before heading out again to do some work and to take some pictures.
Speaking of taking pictures, did you know the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition can give you 10x worth of lossless zooming? Even though its official hardware only supports 5x optical zoom, you can actually zoom all the way up to 10x and OPPO claims that it is lossless.
OPPO also boasts that the camera can zoom all the way up to 60x which obviously, we tried as well. And the result is as below. While it’s not much, at least I know that the little silvery dot from afar is actually a garden spotlight.
It’s clear that OPPO is stepping into the premium range. The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition has one of the most solid smartphones in the market right now. It weighs in at 210 grams and has some girth to the grip. It’s time to change your mindset about OPPO as they are now a premium smartphone brand. For the price of RM3,399, it’s definitely a high priced premium smartphone.
