Review: ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M1) – The Best Value Smartphone
8 min readPerformance & Battery Life
Snapdragon 636, 3 GB RAM & 32 GB storage
The performance is no slouch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. The difference between the 3 variants is basically the amount of RAM and storage. So even if you get the entry model ZenFone Max Pro (M1), you’re still able to enjoy the powerful processing and graphical capabilities of the Snapdragon 636 and Adreno 509. Granted, 3GB RAM is lesser than 4GB and 6GB, but that would just ultimately affect your multitasking capabilities. The phone can even run graphics demanding games such as Honkai Impact 3 and PUBG Mobile proved at mid-high settings without any hiccup.
5000 mAh Battery
Unplugged 13 hours, 3 hours 42 minutes SOT, still left 50% battery.
I have been using the phone extensively during my Taiwan vacation. It was a godsend to have a phone that is capable of lasting through a full day of heavy usage. That would be around 15~18 hours of usage including firing up Google Maps for location hunting & navigation, loads of camera usage for those vacation pictures and of course, non-stop messenger and social media sharing. My travel-mates were all jealous of the fact that I’m leaving the heavy power bank in the Airbnb room instead of carrying it around.
Charging
When it comes to the time of juicing up the beefy 5000 mAh battery, it is going to take some time. With the included 5V2A charger, it will take somewhere around 2 hours and 45 minutes to charge from 10% to 100%.
No fast charge technology here, so always remember to keep your phone at a reasonable power level.
