Performance & Battery Life
Samsung Exynos 8895, 6 GB RAM & 64 GB storage
If you’re into numbers, we have provided you with some benchmark scores from a few popular benchmark applications. In actual day to day use, the Galaxy Note8 would easily handle anything you could throw at it. The chipset is identical to the one used in Galaxy S8/S8+ but with 6 GB RAM instead of 4 GB.
3300 mAh Battery
Now, here’s the part where we felt the Note8 has been lacking – battery life. Even though the Note8 has a massive footprint, but it only comes with a 3300 mAh battery, smaller than S8+ (3500 mAh). For obvious reasons, the previous space in the phone has been taken by the S Pen slot.
A full charge will only last me around 14 hours of usage and a maximum 4 hours of screen-on-time (SOT). During the day of heavy usage, the battery will not even last through 5 pm. How I wish Samsung would just increase the thickness by just 5~10% and pack in a larger battery instead.
Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge
Charging speed is not that impressive even if it packs Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge. From 10%, it still takes around 100 minutes to hit 90% mark. For a battery of the capacity of 3300 mAh, the speed is just alright.
