Here’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series for the tablet gang seeking a laptop replacement

I guess you’re here because you’re done with the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 which are today’s spotlight honestly. Anyway, they are here – the tablet family Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Following the design philosophy of the older S8 series, form factor tiering stays the same with the S9 Ultra (middle) carrying a notch while the S9+ (right) and S9 (left) having none of that.

In fact, dimension changes are close to none so treat it as identical.

Color-wise, you have the usual Graphite color which is basically grey, and also the Beige for the classy modern colorway connoisseur.

Perhaps you think that there’s no upgrading this time around but they do – specifically the base model S9 using the Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with 120Hz refresh rate.

The build quality maintains its sturdiness thanks to the Armor Aluminum.

IP68 stays on for the entire tablet, and the S Pen as well.

Speaking of S Pen, there are a couple of new members in the block. Previously, the “standard” S Pen needs to be placed in one specific orientation to be charged but now, facing any direction will work – indeed a quality of life update.

The other one is the S Pen Creator Edition which is made with softer material for a better grip, a 60° tilt angle, and various pen tips to swap around. In my opinion, digital artists will be geared toward this one.

For Malaysia, they will be selling them in either “ala carte” which is the tablet alone, and also the tablet + keyboard combo. Always welcome any sort of purchase flexibility in my opinion.

Cellular models running off SIM card connections are also available so no telco bondage is needed if you really wanted to.

And a surprise bang, all of them will be preloaded with Clip Studio Paint and LumaFusion alongside ArcSite – a CAD tool for architecture, and GoodNotes.
