After using the Galaxy Z Flip6 for about two weeks, I have an understanding on the device’s potential and decided to elaborate it in a slightly different way from what a review used to be. Instead of telling you the performance and the features, I wanted to present it from individual user’s perspective, for example, how some of the features are going to be useful for them. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 is more than just a smartphone; it’s a fashion accessory. Its sleek, compact design effortlessly complements any outfit, transforming from a stylish pocket-sized device to a full-sized screen with a simple flip.

Camera performance has been a focal point for Samsung, and we have expecting the Z Flip6 to build upon this strength. The primary camera sensor has been upgraded to the same 50MP sensor as the Galaxy S24 & S24+ series. Budding photographers will be rejoiced by this new camera as it captures detailed images with accurate colors, even in challenging lighting conditions.
By default, the camera will use pixel-binning technology to combine 4 pixels into 1 pixel, outputting a 12MP photo. For those who are unaware of such technology, it is a very simple concept whereby it consolidates the 50MP details while keeping the photos at the size of 12MP. Of course, you can still opt to take 50MP photo just that it will take up more storage space.
The secondary camera is an ultrawide lens that expands the creative possibilities. It is especially useful for group selfies and vlogging which we will talk about later.
Selfie lovers will be delighted with the new FlexCam with auto zoom feature. By setting up the phone in a half-open position while in camera mode, the Z Flip6 will switch between the cameras to get the photo that best suits the current condition. This feature is powered by Galaxy AI that actively studies the camera composition and finds the perfect framing. Remember, instead of using a subpar front facing camera, the Z Flip6’s Flex Window allows you to take high quality photos using the primary camera.
Together with Photo Assist, creators can express their artistic idea without having the need to explore deep into a certain photo editing tools.
Just snap a photo and the built in photo editor will have all the remaster tools that could easily help you create the ideal photo, just like how I removed the unnecessary cables and rooftops from the image above with ease.

- Circle to Search – An efficient way to search on a smartphone. Instead of copy pasting into Google, you can now just long press the home button to trigger the circle to search and instantly get your answer from the web.
- Note Assist – Galaxy AI powered Samsung Notes app is now more powerful than ever. Note Assist transcribes recordings and organizes them into notes, producing efficient summaries.
- Live Interpreter & Live Translate – Breaking down the language barriers, it is like having a translator with you all the time whether you’re talking over the phone or conversing face to face with the locals.
As much as the doubters are denying, the age of AI is here and by incorporating it into a smartphone, it changes how we deal with information and get things done.

At the end of the day, the Z Flip6 continues the style and portability legacy, offering a sleek and compact design when folded. It is a testament to Samsung’s continued refinement of the foldable smartphone concept.
