Samsung Launches the New AR9500T Wind-Free Air Conditioner

It is perfectly alright if you have never heard of the Wind-Free Air Conditioning Technology by Samsung. The technology even though has been around for a couple of years, it is, however, relatively new to some as it is only adopted by some models of the existing air conditioners. Just like the AR9500M we experienced last year. Fast-forwarding to 2020, Samsung Electronics Malaysia has launched an updated model, the AR9500T, bringing its innovative Wind-Free cooling technology and combined with smart AI capabilities.

There are a couple of new updates introduced in the new AR9500T. First of all, design. The AR9500T is now shaped like any other conventional wall-mounted indoor cooling unit in order to keep the installation and maintenance process simple. While I personally liked the futuristic design on the previous model but Samsung has pointed out that the new model has better performance. Speaking of the cooling performance, Samsung’s 3-step Fast-Cooling mode is capable of cooling a room 43 per cent faster compared to its conventional air cond unit.

First, the temperature is lowered quickly in a conventional way via the blowing vent. Second, it uses a dehumidifying feature to set the optimal level of humidity. Finally, when the desired temperature is reached, Wind-Free Cooling mode is activated to maintain the temperature and provide an ideal level of comfort. Besides, the new AR9500T now has 23,000 micro-holes, a 2,000 increase from its previous generation, and is able to create a “still air” condition without the cold draft experience.

Apart from the cooling capabilities, the AR9500T also adds intelligence and convenience by optimising the cooling process with its AI Auto Cooling feature, allowing consumers to use their air conditioner more efficiently. Through its analysis of room conditions, user-preferred temperatures and cooling modes, and even the outdoor climate to automatically switch to the most appropriate settings. Combined with the Samsung SmartThings app, more remote capabilities can be achieved.

High energy efficiency is once again achieved with the use of a digital inverter compressor. It helps the air conditioner to maintain the room temperature with less energy fluctuation, meaning a reduction of up to 73 per cent of energy usage.
