Samsung reveals new Neo QLED 8K TV with brand new technological enhancement
3 min readAt the Unbox and Discover keynote, Samsung has announced what the 2022 models of the Neo QLED 8K TV are going to bring to the table for the users and the environment.
The Korean electronic giant is taking a different approach for the 2022 portfolio of Neo QLED 8K because, for this year, they are going for the ‘Screen Everywhere, Screens for All’ motto to facilitate the idea of one flagship display being the center of productivity, entertainment, and technology and not just an electric-powered panel made for “watching”.
For starters, the brain of the display – Neutral Quantum Processor 8K – hosts a total of 20 independent neural AI networks that smartly analyzes the input’s characteristics and picture quality to scale or optimize them for the best viewing experience while packing a new algorithm called the Real Depth Enhancer that scans the screen and maximizes contrasts between a scene’s background and object. This genius move that is inspired by the way human eyes perceive images in real life is pretty advanced due to the fact that the background is separated from the processing and is left the same as the source data.
Combining the powerful processor and software support with the superior Quantum Mini LEDs with utmost power control over each and every pixel then that’s how proper HDR should be – bright areas stay bright and the dark space around it stays dark – or what Samsung likes to call it the Shape Adaptive Light Control. Additionally, the 2022 QLED TVs will be carrying the PANTONE Validated check mark which means they can authentically reproduce more than 2,000 colors with 110 skin tone shades which will be super useful for creators who work with the PANTONE standard on their workstation and get the same final output during calibration and mastering.
Visuals are not the only thing the new TV has because the Neutral Quantum Processor 8K performs its AI magic on the sounds as well with the best model QN900B running a 6.2.4 channel audio system at 90W with support from Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro that can accurately represent the direction of objects and speeches from actors. Speaking of Dolby Atmos, Samsung is also introducing Wireless Dolby Atmos to the majority of the Neo QLED 4K and 8K TV as well as the 2022 Ultra Slim Soundbars that offer all the D.A goodness without relying on cables anymore.
As for when will these new boys come to Malaysia? Only time will tell.
