Sony Malaysia unveils new power supply solutions designed for the Alpha series cameras with NP-FZ100 batteries

Sony Malaysia has introduced two new power supply solutions for the Alpha series cameras using NP-FZ100 batteries: the BC-ZD1 dual battery charger and the DC-C1 DC coupler, which supplies power directly from an external source.

Starting with the BC-ZD1, it is a compact, high-speed charger capable of fully charging two batteries at the same time in around 155 minutes when connected to a USB PD-compatible power source with 30W or higher output.

Measuring (D)70.0 x (W)84.5 x (H)29.2 mm and weighing just 149g, the charger also includes a 5-stage indicator lamp to show charging status and ample heat dissipation with monitoring features for safe use.

On the other hand, the DC-C1 DC Coupler delivers continuous, stable power to cameras using NP-FZ100 or NP-FW50 batteries by connecting it to an external USB PD-compatible power source (65W or higher).

Featuring a 1.6m cable for flexible setup, it packs a locking screw hole or anchor loop to prevent accidental disconnection, and a power indicator lamp to show the power status.

Availability

No pricing yet but Sony Malaysia has confirmed both the BC-ZD1 and DC-C1 will arrive in the local market starting November 2024.
