Sony unveils new FE 50-150mm F2 GM telephoto zoom lens crafted for professional photography and videography needs

Sony has showcased its latest FE 50-150mm F2 GM telephoto zoom lens with a focal length of 150 mm and a bright F2 aperture.
To begin with, the new FE 50-150mm F2 GM lens boasts an advanced optical construction, featuring XA, Super ED, and ED elements to minimize aberrations for sharp, high-contrast results across the zoom range. A floating focus system also allows close-up shooting with a minimum focus distance of 0.4m.
With a constant F2 aperture and a newly developed 11-blade diaphragm, it produces stunning bokeh ideal for portraits, weddings, and events, while Sony’s Nano AR Coating II reduces ghosting and flare. Despite its bright aperture and broad zoom range, the lens remains portable at around 200mm in length and 1,340g in weight. Its internal zoom design maintains stability and balance, making it perfect for handheld or gimbal use.
For autofocus, the lens is equipped with four XD linear motors for fast, precise, and silent focusing, supporting up to 120 fps burst shooting with the Alpha 9 III. It’s also optimized for video, minimizing focus breathing, offering smooth manual focus control, and ensuring quiet operation during recording.
Not only that, the FE 50-150mm F2 GM is dust- and moisture-resistant, with a fluorine-coated front element for easier maintenance, making it reliable even in challenging shooting conditions.
