Sony launches three new Wireless Microphones focused on portability with high-quality sound capture
Sony has just expanded its microphone offerings with the introduction of the ECM-W3 ECM-W3S, and ECM-S1 wireless microphones that combine high-quality audio recording capabilities with a lightweight and portable design.
Starting with the ECM-W3 and ECM-W3S, which the former has a two-channel receiver and two microphones while the latter has only one each. These microphones come with a noise-cut filter for reducing harsh noise and a low-cut filter to decrease low-frequency noise, alongside a windscreen that minimizes wind and breath noise.
On top of that, both microphones support MI Shoe for battery- and cable-free shooting as well as low latency capture through Bluetooth 5.3 and LC3Plus codec. To further boost compatibility, they have a USB Type-C terminal and a 3.5mm audio output that allows connection with various devices.
On the other hand, the ECM-S1 features three 14mm large diameter capsules that boast three sound pickup modes: Uni-directional, Omni-directional, and Stereo.
Similar to both of the mentioned microphones above, it also has a noise-cut filter and a low-cut filter while supporting Bluetooth 5.3 and LC3plus codec plus MI Shoe.
The microphone also features an independent dial for adjusting sound recording levels, with indicator lamps to monitor levels and a LINK lamp for communication status between the microphone and receiver to prevent missed recordings.
Availability
While there’s no pricing info yet, Sony Malaysia has confirmed that the microphones will be arriving sometime in November 2023.
