[CES 2025] Sony showcases new XYN innovations designed to empower spatial content creation
At CES 2025, Sony has introduced the XYN, an advanced integrated solution combining software and hardware to support the creation of spatial content. Let’s take a look at what was unveiled.
XYN Motion Studio
Firstly, the XYN Motion Studio is a PC application that connects to 12 ‘mocopi’ sensors via dedicated receivers and uses Sony’s algorithms for automatic motion interpolation and auto-tagging, improving motion data for creators. Plus, the application introduces new editing features, making motion capture more affordable and accessible to creators in different fields.
XYN Spatial capture solution (Prototype)
Moving on, the XYN Spatial capture solution transforms real-world objects and enviroments into photorealistic 3D CG assets by utilizing images taken with mirrorless cameras and proprietary algorithms. A prototype mobile app is also being developed to visualize shooting conditions in real-time, further streamlining the 3D CG production process across various settings.
XYN Headset (Prototype)
Last on the list is the XYN Headset, an immersive spatial content creation system featuring 4K OLED microdisplays and a video see-through function crafted for creative work in spatial content creation. It will be compatible with various 3D production software, such as pre-visualization and 3D character modeling, benefiting both industrial design and entertainment sectors.
