Features

Forward Collision Alert

The camera is capable of detecting vehicles and objects at the front while you’re driving. You can configure the minimum speed to enable the detection so that you won’t be notified during low speeds. While this feature is not as sophisticated as those infrared-based and proximity sensor-based systems, but for a dashcam, this is very impressive.

Lane Departure Alert

The lane departure warning is my favourite feature of all. Given the right lighting condition with properly drawn lanes, the camera can tell apart if you’re drifting away from your current lane or not. Just like the front collision warning, users can configure the minimum speed that enables this warning.

Parking Monitor

Another unique feature of the DrivePro 230 is the parking monitor mode. The dashcam basically becomes you car’s CCTV when you’re away from the vehicle. While it may be useful against car vandals, but it is not a theft deterrent tool as thieves would usually steal the dashcam when they break into the vehicle. Besides, you will require connecting the camera to a power bank or hardware the power cable for constant power supply.

More features

There are a lot more features which we could not list them all. Here’s a gallery of the settings if you’re interested to know more about the available configurations.

Transcend App

You can download the Transcend DrivePro app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Just connect your phone to the DrivePro and you can access the dashcam’s configuration, saved files and streaming the video to your phone.

While streaming the display from the dashcam to the phone in real time seems good, but I can’t find any reason to do so in practice. I mean, why would any of your passengers be interested to watch the dashcam footage while they’re in the car as well?

Apart from that, the app allows you to access the recorded footage stored in the dashcam’s microSD card and transfer them to your phone. The dashcam’s settings can also be configured directly from the app itself, saving you the hassle to go through the dashcam’s menu.
