Canon Malaysia and UMS’s Borneo Marine Research Institute come together to celebrate World Oceans Day 2024
2 min readFor World Oceans Day 2024, Canon Malaysia has done something special with the Borneo Marine Research Institute (BMRI) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) through theĀ “Exploring Ocean Awareness Through Photography” workshop and photo exhibition.
The program was led by steemed underwater photographer and Canon EOS Master, Ipah Uid Lynn whose expertise has led participants to understand, appreciate, and enjoy ocean exploration as well topics about conservation.
As for the workshop, she shared underwater photography techniques and responsible practices to protect delicate ecosystems within the waters while the photo exhibition session showcased several Canon imagePROGRAF Pro Series printed photos that emphasized the beauty of the underwater world.
With Canon’s long track record of various CSR initiatives, this ocean-focused collaboration aligns with its commitment to promoting sustainability through impactful programs and technology, similar to the nationwide One Canon One Treeā campaign and the tree adoption drive at Taman Tugu.
